Building a Safer Future: The KidComms Story

KidComms was founded with one clear mission — to build a child’s mobile phone that puts safety, simplicity, and wellbeing first. Our flagship device, the KidComms P110, helps children stay connected to friends and family without exposure to the risks of internet-enabled smartphones — including addictive apps, social media, and unsafe content that can impact long-term mental and emotional health.

Why KidComms Exists?

Kids want phones. Parents worry about safety. We found the balance.
KidComms began as a personal solution to a modern parenting dilemma. When my 8-year-old son asked for a phone, I hesitated. Like many parents, I was concerned about giving him access to the internet and all the problems that can come with it. But I also wanted him to feel independent — to walk home from school, go to the park, and stay in touch. That’s when I realized what he needed wasn’t a smartphone… but a safer kind of child’s mobile phone.

The Search for a Better Option

Not all “kids’ phones” are as safe as they seem…
Determined to find a child’s mobile phone that offered freedom without the pitfalls, I explored dozens of so-called "kids' phones" and “dumb phones.” Most were either cheaply made or still included internet access, games, or social features — exactly what I was trying to avoid. That’s when we created KidComms — a phone purpose-built for kids, free from distractions, and focused on real communication and safety.
